Stolen lawnmower ends in arrest

One man still on the run.
Sunday, July 25 the Sheriff’s office received a call about a black S10 pickup truck with a stolen Husqvarna riding lawn mower in the back from Morgan County.

Helton almost hits Deputy and Sheriff; arrested on drug charges

Billy J. Helton of Salyersville was arrested Monday, July 26, after almost hitting Sheriff Bob Jordan and Deputy Darvin Marsilett head-on.

Ribbon-cutting planned for August 5

After months of debate, the unemployment extension bill was signed into effect Thursday, July 22. President Barack Obama signed the unemployment bill Thursday, restoring benefits for people who have been out of work for six months or more.
